The House System
Mount Fort Academy has a very effective house system to ensure utmost participation of every child in various activities. The House System provides opportunities for students to develop all aspects of their growth and learning: personality, morality, creativity, knowledge, and skills. The system promotes values of fair play, teamwork, citizenship, mutual responsibility, self-discipline, initiative, perseverance, and resilience.
Participation in House activities contributes to excellence in academic, social, sporting and cultural fields.
The children from Std. II onwards are divided into four houses; each House has a synonym of River “Ganges”, spreading the message of “unity in diversity”:
Drawing is a curious process, so intertwined with the process of seeing that the two can hardly be separated. Ability to draw depends on the ability to see the way an artist sees, and this kind of observation can marvelously enrich the life of a child.
Arts and Crafts –Arts and crafts is a great tool for learners of all ages. It also help children to learn new things; children can also improve their academic skills and Creativity through it.
The Environment Club is actively involved in promoting ecological issues. MFA creates a bridge between students and the environment. The main aim is to sensitize students towards eco-awareness and maintenance of greenery around the school and nearby areas by various programmes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and plantation drives.
This leads to an effective impact on students about the importance of environment and awareness about the same.
Performing Arts includes theater, plays, music, poem recitation and drama as well as mime, circus and dance.
Creative freedom is an underlying principle at MFA, and by learning various Performing Arts students explore and develop their creative expression. By creatively engaging in different art forms, exploring and experimenting with instruments, dance and drama our students learn to respond to the beauty in form, movement, and sound; and develop an aesthetic sensibility.
Developing strong value systems and inculcating traits such as honesty, integrity and hard-work remains at the core of the education system.
The school aims to provide personality development classes making it a way of life at Mount Fort Academy. Our objective is to inculcate the healthy spirit of competition, nurture the will to excel and develop spontaneity. In a world where moral values are degrading, MFA steps in to teach acceptable moral codes to our children by making this an important part of the curriculum.
Meditation and yoga are also introduced from the kindergarten level. To develop a connection between the mind and the body customized yoga classes will help children improve their concentration skills.
A Crucial factor that affects the personality of a child is the environment to which they are exposed. No other place than school can be a better place for personality development. Gone are the times when school used to be mere chalk and duster classes. The school is not only the place to acquire knowledge but also gives students an opportunity to develop a broader outlook.
Personality development is not only one thing but it is a cluster of many things.
Our aim at Mount Fort Academy is to provide a broader platform, a nurturing culture and the patience and perseverance of our teachers assists students in personality development in school. It is important that a child steps out of the world of books and becomes a smart and confident individual.
At Mountfort Academy every child participates in physical activities to develop healthy bodies, to have fun and to enjoy team-work, sportsmanship and achieving personal goals. In keeping with our understanding that children thrive in a non-competitive environment, we minimize competitive sports.
We offer a range of competitive and non-competitive sporting opportunities, allowing students to select sports based on their personal interests. Our whole-of-school sporting philosophy ensures continuity of skill development and gameplay across the year.
The aim of the sports program is to ensure that all students are active every day.
The programs are designed to create an awareness of the importance of regular physical activity, fitness, teamwork and inculcate a positive competitive spirit and to carry these traits into the students’ adult life.
We place more emphasis on exercise, games and skills training. As children grow in confidence and emotional maturity, competitive games can be undertaken with less risk of discouraging those who are still developing their skills. This promotes greater participation, more enjoyment and ultimately more likelihood of being physically active for life.
Playing and excelling in sports also teaches kids the importance of hard work, perseverance, learning from failure, and the importance of grasping opportunities.
School provides opportunities in Table Tennis, Athletics, Skating, Football, Badminton, Basket Ball, Kabaddi, Cricket, Judo Karate, and other Indoor and Outdoor games.
